HOB Lost Wages 2001 by FunkyStaR Here is my recollection of the Mob in Las Vegas. The concert was about 3 hours long, 9 until 12. As compared to 4 hours plus in new orleans, austin and other cities. the concert was short but was packed with alot of quality material. they rearranged the setlist some, see the setlist below. there was quite a bit of feed back coming from the pa system but i thought the band was pretty tight. Props goes out the MR. BLACKBYRD MCKNIGHT, that motherfukker is hell on the geetar. brother played with his teeth, did some of that eddie van halen fingering on the fret board, shytt was kickassss. setlist: mommy what a funkadelic? goodies are gone soul mate cosmic slop (p.nut and gc makes there entrance) one nation & FLASHLIGHT (played them muggs early) power of soul somin STANK and i want som booty mathamatics maggot brain dogstar/fly on (that shytt was nasty as helll) knee deep atomic dog (gc returns dancing with the girl on stage and leaves for the night?????) free your mind Thats all i can remember right now. vegas...by bobe ...tight show, sorta streamlined...the first three tunes(mommy, goodies, soulmate)were hightened by some amazing boogie mosson vamps...had the pleasure of standing behind the fliest lady that kept getting the attention of the band(george blew her a kiss and then made the sign of the cross!!!)...balcony people were on tha nod,and just sitting lifeless...got the "power of soul",this time...hampton played a bunch...lots of guitar(mcfadden on an acoustic that was inaudable) LOTS of guitar..."fly on" was the highlight for me...george was offstage more than any show i've ever seen...lots of "professionals" and "working girls"on stage for atomic dog-one silicone fairy should have just taken it off.hey, might as well, this was vega$... yeah, a shorter, but better show by Tim Mullens definitely better than the HOB show here last Spetember. I got down to the Mandalay Bay around 5 and started imbibing as I searched for PBoard folks. Made it a hazy night all around, LOL. Howard, never found ya, sorry. Went Looking for you in the general area where Lamar and Kareem said they met you, hoping you'd pick out Hendrix, but hopefully next time. bobe, introduced myself to several guys with red shirts, none was you, LOL. Funkystar, same thing, introduced myself to two dudes with those silver and black Parliament/Funkadelic t-shirts, but they weren't you either, LOL. Met and hung for a while with Lamar and Kareem, met PFunk1 also. Three down to earth, real funkateers. Good meetin and hangin. We'll do it again some other city. When my late-arriving friends finally showed up from LA I headed upstairs to sit down in their reserved seats, but the sound was terrible up there. All muddlded and not loud enough so we split to gamble and I finally left them around 4am at the Olympic Gardens, but a great night was had by all. Hope everyone had fun.
