FUNKADELIC in Sandy Eggo, 2.21.2001:
The first of 4 funkfilled nights in a row, last night's show at 4th
& B in San Diego was SERIOUSly SLAMMIN'. The 4 hour (9:30-1:30) set
swayed heavily to the FUNKADELIC side. Kareem and I hooked up with
PFUNK1 before the show to assume the headspace of 420 and then proceeded
to get funked up. The band are as tight as ever, the baddest mollyfocks
in the universe...Highlights included George singing Mathmatics over
the Booty bassline Garret Shider singing ONE Nation and I'm Never
Gonna Tell It featuring Eric McFadden on mandolin and Micheal Hampton
milking mellow feedback from his Parker Fly. Oh yeah, and don't ever
forget about Blackbird... The sound was good, the crowd was entusiastic
and mellow, ganga smoke was in the air, and the maggots was lovin'
it...After the show we taked to Gina Hall, couldn't find her car.
